Rope tops, an experiment for you to try

Ok rope tops, I have a challenge for you. Go grab your favorite rope bottom, a hunk of your favorite rope, and practice doing a basic chest harness like the one I demo here.

Got it? What was it like" Ask your bottom how she felt about the experience.

Now try this, take a caribeiner (or short hunk of rope) and loop one end though the back belt loop of your bottom and the other through the front of yours. You should now be tethered about 4-6 inches from your partner.

Tie the harness again.

What changed? While the most obvious observation will be that tethered like this you have less room to move and navigate around the bottom. This may seem frustrating, however ask the bottom what changed for her (or him) I think you will be surpized.

Rope is all about connection, the strands of hemp are an extension of your want for the other, wrapping them, protecting, taking them on a trip with you.

"Getting Started Vol 1& 2" DVD now for sale.

I've held off selling our DVD for sometime, opting instead to offer it free with our kits and on-line via youtube and our site. My logic behind this decision was that I do not make my living teaching rope, that is best left for the experts like Max and Midori. Rather, it was my goal to give you enough information about the rope to demystify the process, get you exited and hopefully get you to seek out further instruction.

By all reports we have done that and more.

However, I get dozens of requests a week for just the DVD. Existing customers who have plenty of rope but what the volume 2 videos, folks who want to share the info with a friend but are not about to give up thier well worn copy. So, after many requests and much thought I am offering the DVD for sale. It, along with saftey shears, are still included at no extra cost with select kits, but now you can get just the DVD should you need an extra copy.

"Getting Started with your TwistedMonk Rope, Vol 1&2" DVD $20

I've had the honor of attending the very first Rope Dojo, Tambo has now been to two of them and with any luck several of the minion will be at this one too. Why? They are really good. Seattle has some great rope instruction, but one of the aspects of the Dojo that I really enjoyed was the "mental" aspect. Lots of places can teach you how to tie a knot safley, for me, the Dojo was where I first learned how to "think" with rope. Plan, flow and create.

Hey, how about a new how-to video?

The much hinted at how to where yours truly plays demo bottom to the always fabulous Midori... and ends up being ridden like a hobby horse.

I have one more video that I would like to finish up and then I think we will press "getting started volume 2" to DVD in time for Christmas.

Attn Portland Area Rope Fans.
Max, of bondagelessons.com fame, just announced that he will be teaching one of his 2-day bondage intensives next month. For those who have attended one of Max's classes or heard me rave about his teaching style you will know that he is, hands down, one of the best instructors currently teaching. The 2 day intensive starts from the basics and ends with suspension, while keeping a solid grounding in safety.

Class size is very limited and they tend to fill up very quickly so I'd hurry if you wanted to take advantage of a great learning opportunity.

You asked for it! Basic Head Bondage How To Now on YouTube

I've literally gotten hundreds of requests for a video on how to tie head bondage, the best practitioner of it would have to be my wife Tambo. So she and Alex present to you a quick, easy to follow how to video that will get you started with this very intimate and connective form of bondage right.

Curious for to try it yourself? Check out our Exotic White Linen Hemp. It is the rope we use in the video and my personal favorite for this sort of bondage.

Max is teaching his amazing Fundamentals of Rope Bondage (aka ROPE101)
Sunday September 30th, 2007
3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
At the Center for Sex Positive Culture (CSPC)in Seattle

My first rope class was one of Max's, I've sold rope at almost every class he has taught since then and even 4 years later I'm still learning new tricks from the guy. Yes, he is that good. If you are curious about rope and looking to get started, don't miss this class.

“You get a lot of chicks with this bondage thing?”
I had to blink twice to mask my surprise at the question. I get asked lots of questions, but this was a first. He seemed sincere enough, standing there at the Bondage is the Point party.
“Well,” Pausing to collect my thoughts, I lean protectively against the cage where my wife was bundled into a tiny ball of straight jacket and hood, blissfully tuning out the world, and glance across the room at my other partner who pauses mid conversation to flash me her warm smile, then to the young girl waiting eagerly at the edge of the party, before the night is done she will be naked, hanging from the ceiling in my rope, and finally to rest back on the man asking me the question. “Sorta, I guess”

Now I’d love to say that being good at rope will score you more attention from the fairer sex than you will ever want for. No, that would be false advertising. Attraction is based on a myriad of factors, things like personal charisma, confidence, good hygiene, and sought after skills... like rope. Yes, being good with rope is a sought after skill. Chicks do dig guys who can tie and tie well. Now while I can’t do much to help out in the charisma or confidence arenas, I can give you the hook up when it comes to rope skills.

Max is teaching another one of his amazing Fundamentals of Rope Bondage classes this Sunday at the Wetspot in Seattle. For folks just getting into rope, this is an excellent opportunity to gain some new skills in a safe, fun environment. I’ve sat through a LOT of rope 101 classes in this job and Max is hands down one of the best teachers in the game. Don’t miss this class, he is taking the summer off and your next chance to take this class will be in October.

For more info check out Max’s website.
