Hot Rope Bondage Anyone?

A couple if sexy shots from the GoBackToBed.Com launch party last week.

Even in a dirty, former paint factory when it is so cold that you can see your breath and yours truly had to worry about getting hypothermia as the night went on, still good fashion MUST be observed. Love the perspective on this shot.

And of course, my killer second in command Intl. Ms Leather 2009 Lamalani (@IMsL2009 on twitter, go follow her!)Throwing rope on Ms. Polly Wood.

Thanks again to the awesome Seven of Eros for helping make this happen.

Hey Sexy Seattle Peeps, What Ya Doing This Saturday Night?

I've been hired to perform and provide "eye candy" for this event. The location is a sweet industrial loft in the shadow of the West Seattle Bridge, the event organizers told me to, "Spread the word and invite some friends..."

From the party invite:
Go Back To Bed plot summary:

Two middle aged, HOT women, searching for their place in the world, fall into the online adult sex toy industry. They soon rise to the top with a booming website and blog and change their boring everyday housewife names to "Sex Kitty " and " Miss September ".

The fast-paced blogging lifestyle of their new found career causes sexual satisfaction at home and soon they are smitten with the intensity of fame and attention they receive as the current hip and playful MOTHERS of the adult sex accoutrement market.

They get hooked on toy reviews, which is very prevalent in the adult toy industry, and find their star status slipping away. In a silicone induced state, these two minx get involved with a rockin' band, some bodacious bartenders, and fantastic warehouse owners. Being famous does have its power. Their gizmo-ridden detour results in an epic launch party celebration, while " Miss September" & "Sex Kitty" retain their day jobs as wholesome mothers and dutiful wives.

Having paid their dues, " Sex Kitty " and " Miss September" rock the adult novelty world and resume their place, not as the " fresh meat" on the market , but as seasoned veterans who still have what it takes. And do they ever!

Please join us for a sexy celebration launch of our company

Sex Worker Literati, December 3 in NYC
Featuring... well me :)

Remember how I was in NYC last month and I was all exited to meet author, activist and all around rock star Audacia Ray? Yeah, and remember how I was mortified that upon meeting her I went into total "fan boy" mode and pretty much went "OMG!OMG!OMG" while shaking her hand?

Probably not one of my more shining moments of suave charm, but I guess I must have made a positive impression because she has invited me to take part in her next public reading event. I'm so thrilled and honored to be part of this event. At the last reading I was just blown away by the honesty and beauty of the stories shared that night. Laughing at one moment and moved to tears the next.

I'll be sharing the stage with a host of fascinating male writers, porn stars and sex workers, each one with a unique and personal tale to tell about life in the sex industry.

For more information check out the facebook page for the event.
...and no, I will not be wearing a tiara.

Monk, on 2 coasts and on stage too.

Going to be a busy two weeks for your humble narrator. Let us see what the calendar holds....

Friday Oct 30th: Columbia City Cabaret, "Frightfully Kinky" Show
Catch me performing onstage in one of the best cabaret shows in town. Tamara always puts on a hell of a show and this one will be extra "kinky". See my amazing rope bottom and I pull off some moves that you have never seen a in a rope bondage scene. That and it is also Tambo's birthday so she is going to be getting some birthday "attention" on stage too.

Sunday Nov 1st: Max Teaches Rope Bondage 201
Rope instructor extraordinaire, Max of bondagelessons.com, continues his fantastic series of monthly rope classes. If you missed the 101 class, fear not, you will catch up quick. I'll be there with a VERY limited supply of rope to sell.

Thursday Nov 5th: Sex Worker Literati in NYC
It is with great delight that I will be attending this event with my NYC hosts. Some amazing presentations and performers will be there. I'm a tad "fan boy" with delight at getting to meet some of my industry idols.

Friday Nov 6th: The New York Sex Bloggers Calendar Release Party!
I guess I must have made a bit of an impression on Tess and Diva when I met them last week in CT as they are hosting me to be part of this very cool event. I'll be there, I'm bringing my personal rope as well as a one of a kind rope kit for the auction. By all the sounds, this party is going to be off the hook with some of the hottest sex advocates, workers, writers and outlaws from all over the country.

Saturday Nov 7th: Sensual Rope Bondage for the Not So Vanilla SOLD OUT!
I'm making a very rare teaching appearance in NYC to teach a small, hands on class in my unique style of sensual bondage. Sorry, Sold out.

Whew! I'm so glad that I'm getting a personal assistant again soon. I can barely remember where I left my pants last night!

UPDATE!
For those of you attending Max's Rope Bondage 201 class this Sunday at CSPS. I feared that I would not have enough stock on hand to vend and fill all the orders we have, but thanks to some extra hard work by the Minion I'll have a LIMITED number of rope kits and books on hand to sell before the class.

Come early as stock is very limited, visa/mc accepted, class starts at 2:30

Another shot from SeaCompression '08

Yes, this would be Alex riding on my shoulders as I rig. Not a very "traditional" approach to bondage, slipping under the bottom and lifting them up on your shoulders as you tie off an ankle tie, but if you have not yet figured out I'm really not all that traditional in a lot of respects.

From SeaComp 08

Shots are starting to trickle in from the event on Saturday. This one is from a demo I did with a very sweet boy who had never, ever been tied up before let alone suspended. He was so nervous and yet so terribly endearing when he finally went up and could not stop smiling.

I'm Rigging Tonight at SeaComp 2008

My very good friends at Suspense Camp have invited me out tonight to join them as part of SeaComp. This will be my first foray into the whole Burning Man "thing", but from what I have been told this is should be a pretty cool event.

I'll be rigging and giving "bondage rides" with the rest of the Suspense Camp team tonight. If you can't make it out, watch the twitter and Flikr feeds as I will do my best to send updates as I can.

Now what to wear?!

Looking for something fun to do this weekend and want to get tied up by me?

It is my unique pleasure to be lending my skills to the 4th annual Kinky Carnival. For those of you who have never been this is a great event where you can sample all manner of kinky delights in a safe, non pressure, non icky environment. Think of it like going to The Bite Of Seattle, but instead of sampling food from around the globe you get to sample things like rope bondage, candles, play piercing and more.

This is a great fund raiser as well as a fantastic for those folks who have always been a little curious about the whole "kink" thing, but have yet to dip their toes in the pool. This is not a swing club, nobody will be pressuring you to do anything you don't want and there will be lots to see so even if you are not yet ready to try you will have LOTS of cool stuff to watch and talk about afterwards.

I'll be working the rope bondage booth from 8-11PM.

If you are still on the fence. I will have a very cool something for you if come to the booth, say hello and tell me that you are a blog reader.

ADDENDUM: As if you needed a reason to come out and support a tolerant, sex positive Seattle, here is a great one.

Pounding some coffee before launching into the last day of filming (and the last day of my insanely busy weekend). Today I am shooting with the legend herself, Midori. I am profoundly honored too, her book "The Seductive Art of Japanese Rope Bondage" was the first place I ever saw rope bondage and provided my first recipe for finishing hemp rope. You could argue that all of this *makes grand waving gesture* is a direct result of that book.

Matisse has a pretty good wrap up of some of the madness (and photos) here.

Update 3:02PM PST: And that's a wrap! The 4 day media marathon is done! 6 new amazing how to videos in the can, but damn is I am not one tired boy. Oh well, it was worth it if for no other reason than to get footage of Midori tying me up and riding me like a hobby horse. Oh yeah, you are gonna love this. Now off to the editing decks...

Note to self, don't schedule an all day video shoot for the day AFTER you do do a very physical photo shoot AND go to an event like the SEAF gala till the wee hours. I know, I know I tell myself this but you know I would still have done it. Way too much fun not to, besides my video editor and FX guy can probably CGI out my bloodshot eyes and puffy eye bags anyway.

But seriously, this is day 3 of Monk's long weekend of media. A full day of video shooting, some new how to content that I'm sure you are gonna love, and then another one tomorrow with one of my favorite bondage teachers, ever. Much like doing long shows, this sort of thing requires one to carefully monitor their energy and not push too hard too fast, for fear that you will crash too soon. I'm doing a good job of that, sorta. I got a bit carried away when shooting with Michele and spent the better part of 3 hours tossing, tying and generally manhandling Alex into new and pretty shapes. I love working with Michele, she so brings out the connection that Alex and I have when we play. One can't help but pull out the stops.

OK the watch on my wrist tells me that I have just enough time to hop in the shower and catch some breakfast before load in and lighting.

Cheers

Oh and to all those who came out the SEAF gala last night, wow you all looked fantastic. I always get ADD at events like this, so many pretty people to see and hug and grope... so little time! Gawd I love this town.

Have it your way?

Pardon me while I take deep breath and enjoy this, the calm before the storm. The next 4 days are going to be *quite* jam packed. Lemme see, Friday night is Midori's "Bang 4 th Buck" party. Yeah, I know it is only for girls, but the company is still helping sponsor the event and thanks to all of you who bought our last color of the month, Unity, we will be donating a rather nice hunk of cash to the cause. All the female members of the TM family are gearing up to attend, wave the flag, give away a ton of schwag and have lots of fun.

Saturday is the big SEAF gala

Oh and Midori is in town teaching a butt load of classes.

In between all of this, I'm shooting 2 video blogs, posing and rigging for 2 photo shoots with one of my all time favorite photographers, and shooting 6 (count em, SIX) new how to videos.

So while I marshal my mojo for what is sure to be a wild couple of days I still have rope to make.

One of the new batches that I want to show off next week will be another "twisted color", you all seem to really like them so I guess I should keep making them. However it occurred to me that instead of just offering a bulk hunk of rope up for auction perhaps I should cut it down, whip the ends and offer it as a more complete "kit"?

I'll admit that I'm torn on this, so I thought I would ask you what you thought.

Ok, I need to get my ass in gear today and make things happen. Oh and thanks for all the great ideas for costumes. I think I have some leads on a few hot ones and of course I will share photos when the time is right.

Ok kids, get out your day timers!

So what cool things are going on this week in Monkland?

Well let me see, first and foremost let me tell you about a new series of classes that are being offered at The Center for Sex Positive Culture in Seattle (formerly “The Wetspot) by Max (bondagelessons.com) and Russell (Flirts Inc.) called “Topping to the Next Level”
This is a 4 part series of classes aimed at going beyond the “how to perform a task” and into “how to use what you know to create hot scenes”. Both Max and Russell bring years of experience to the table and are both tops that I deeply respect and have learned a great deal from over the years. I am looking forward to seeing more of this series.

The first class is this Sunday, 2/10/08 “Techniques for Thoughtful Tops”

Next up?
Midori is doing it again. Last year Twistedmonk.com were proud to help sponsor Midori’s Bang 4 the Buck fund raisers as well as release a custom color of the month to help raise funds for The Aids Lifecycle. Remember how fast “lifeline” went last year? Well this year we are doing it again. Watch the blog for details, as always I will announce it here first.

Last but certainly not least, a big happy birthday to my good friend and sometimes victim, Ayem Willing. You are one of a kind buddy, I’m honored to call you my friend.

Say wha?

One of the best parts of doing a roadshow, aside from the huge paycheck at the end, is getting to interact with my fans and customers. Historically, we only make one east coast appearance so folks tend to go out of their way to come up and say hello.

This last weekend I had the pleasure to talk, hug and laugh with so many great people. It makes me wish that I could have had a hidden camera running because some of the interactions I had with folks were just too funny / strange to believe.

While wandering about on Friday night looking for a nearby pub for dinner and stopping to ask a couple on the street for directions:
Monk: ”Say, are you folks local? I’m looking for the Trinity Pub, heard of it?”
Random Person: ”Nope….”, eyes narrowing,” say… I know you. You were on my wife’s computer last night!”
Monk: “Um, I was? Was I naked”
Random Person: “”No, but there was a motorcycle…”
(ok, so maybe this video blogging thing is a bit more popular than I thought)

A customer walked by the booth, and as soon as her eyes caught me she stops dead in the middle of the isle and stares. Later she will make some stammering hellos and as I do my best to reassure her that I am just a guy and while I am flattered that she is so struck by meeting me that I am, in fact, just a person and won’t bite her.
“Its, its” she stammers trying to regain composure, “its like I’m meeting Santa Claus! “
I assure you all, while my ego may be near mythical in its proportions and depth, Seattle is not the north pole (no matter how much I complain about the cold) and the minion (while some are a bit on the diminutive side) are not to be mistaken for elves. LOL I really wanted to give her a big hug and thank her for making my day, but I held back for fear that she may faint.

Ok the wildest one? A buxom young thing, bounced up to me and announced that I was a “F.F.I.L.F” As in, “Father Figure I’d Like To Fuck”
Gulp! Not too sure how I feel about that one, sure I like playing the “Big Bad Leather Daddy” card when in public with alex, but I’m not sure if I am ready to have the gray streaks in my hair eroticized in that context just yet.

Ok, so the few items too big to fly back with me are safely in UPS' hands. Bags packed and just taking a few moments to pause and enjoy the last of our awesome host's creature comforts before making the trek from Providince back to Boston and then fling home. Of course I was a bit worried when I awoke this morning to find the streets covered in a few inches of fresh snow. Thankfully that all seems to be under control. Strange, when we arrived on Friday the rain fell in fist sized drops. Walking but a few feet drenched us. Saturday and Sunday, not that we could do much with it, but it was glorious. Dry and crisp, bright and cold.... then today snow. Strange.

Oh well, I blather and should draw this to an end. Here is to everyone who came out, I think we hit a record for the number of times we heard, "love your blog" or "thanks for the videos" , "can I come work for you" and my favorite, "So when are you going to relocate the company out here?" Thank you to everyone who came out and bought, brought us treats, chatted, hugged, shared stories and generally makes this event one of my personal favorites. We will be back next year. As for the summer flea.... maybe. Ask me when I am not wiped out of stock and homesick.

Before I close, one last thank you must go to my boy alex. I think I may have met my match when it comes to salesmanship. He could sell ice to Eskimos and busted ass all weekend to do that. Thanks, you make your Daddy proud in so many ways.

So how goes the Flea?
This was our booth at 11 am, just as they started letting customers in...

This was our boot at 6 pm after they closed vending for the day.

Any questions?

One down, one to go. Another town and one more show

Hmm, the performance at The Chill went off better than I had hoped. While not quite a last minute thing, Alex and I only had a few days to piece together something that we both liked and thought would be visually compelling to watch. While a more intimate venue (as opposed to say Folsom St), the crowd really seemed to groove on the scene. Regular theatrical bondage performances, as opposed to "dramatic scenes" is high on my want to do more of list. I really enjoy allowing the actor and the rope lover in me loose at the same time and letting them run amok that just feels, right.
We pulled a few strings and got the scene captured to film, so let me see about getting it imported into Premier and formated for viewing on-line.

Next up, the Santa gig. I must confess that I am both honored and a bit nervous about this one. Funny, you would think I should be more nervous about delivering a bondage performance with one rehearsal than sitting around being Santa for a night. But no, this is the first time I have ever been asked to come just "be" a celebrity anything. Usually, I am asked to come vend at events and end up being entertaining as well. I won't be selling any rope this time out, just selling my self. Sure, I suppose that this could be considered just another performance, but still it is a new kind of performance I guess? Or perhaps I'm just looking at this too hard. In the end, I'm putting on a Santa hat, being myself, smiling at the camera and helping some cool people raise money for a good cause.

Anyway you look at it, it is an honor and I'm really delighted to be doing it.

Coming Soon to a Monk Near You.

OK, the next couple of days are going to be jam packed with cool stuff. So best I just start at the beginning and go from there.
Today, Thursday 12/6
I'm headlining at "The Chill" at Seattle's Center for Sex Positive Culture (Formerly "The Wetspot") Alex and I will be doing a mummification/suspension performance that should be pretty damned cool, if I do say so myself.
Here is a sneak peak:

For more info, check out the CSPC Website.

Tomorrow, Friday 12/7
Seattle Men in Leather Present, Pictures with Santa!
Matisse and I will be donning our holiday drag (in my case Santa as imagined by Tom of Finland) and doing our best to separate the naughty from the nice. Every year this event brings in lots of folks and helps raise funds for Seattle's Lambert House. I'm quite honored to have been asked to be a part of this.

After that?

Well Saturday is the 5th night of Hanukkah so I'll be spinning a dreidiel some of my favorite people, but not before unleashing something new for you all to enjoy.

Here is a teaser.

Sunday? Sunday I'm hoping to sleep the fuck in! Well I do get to spend some time with another one of my favorite people that day too.

But wait there is more! Did you see what Bacchus wrote about me on Eros Blog? You should go see, and then send him thank you notes. The traffic has been amazing (as have been the sales! )

Twistedmonk is part of The Stranger's Annual Strangercrombie Charity Auction again.

Oh and Monday, a reader photo that is sure to get your blood pumping! Lord knows it just about derailed my day when I first saw it.

Whew, I'm tired. You tired? I sure am. Think I shall go the fuck to bed now....

[edit] oh and those ebay auctions end today too!

Where the Hell will I be this week?

So let me see,

Friday Nov 30: Matisse and I return to the recording studio to lay down more episodes of her podcast.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive response by her listeners, I’m back again as her co-host, comic foil and source of the surreal lawn gnome innuendo. To that note, we are soliciting your questions. Now folks, keep in mind that this is a 5-8 minute cast. Asking too general a question like, “How do I become a top?” is going to be tossed right out. Rather, specific questions like, “How do you handle X feeling in Y situations?” will be more likely to get your question read and answered.

Sunday Dec 2: I will be selling rope, books as well as bringing some of our new threads at Max’s Rope Bondage 201 class.
While this is a continuation of his awesome instructional series, even first time rope users are welcome. These classes are informative, safe and lots of fun. If you are new to the whole kink “scene” here in Seattle, these classes (and the party afterwards) are a great place to get your feet wet and see why this town has one of the best kink scenes in the country. Click here for more info, prices and directions.

Thursday Dec 6th: See me perform live and help support a great cause.
One of the reasons Seattle is famous for its scene is The Center for Sex Positive Culture (aka “The WetSpot”) For years this place has been giving first time kinksters and experienced players a place to learn, play and participate in the greater kink community. I’ve been asked to do a rope bondage “mummification and suspension” scene as part of a fund raiser they will be holding that evening. I have something, shall we say, interesting up my sleeve for this one. If you saw what I did for their last fundraiser, The Blood Fair”*, you won’t want to miss out.

I was just asked to do this so I don't have much in the way of details save the date. I’ll post more details when I have them.

Friday Dec 7th. Seattle Men in Leather, Photos with Santa.
How I got roped into this one, I’m not sure. Matisse and I will be your Leather Mr & Mrs Claus for the evening, come get your photo on Santa’s lap. This will be a fundraiser for Seattle’s Lambert House. Again, a great cause and lots of fun. Oh and no, I will not be wearing the padded Santa drag, nope this would be Santa if he was not eating all those cookies and hitting the gym 4 times a week and dated one of the sexiest women in the city.
